General Information

Chemical formula of NaH2PO4, white odorless powder granular structure is a phosphoric acid salt. It is also known as anhydrous monobasic sodium phosphate and sodium dihydrogen phosphate.

Production and Reactions

It is commercially produced by neutralizing phosphoric acid produced from the mine in the US. Sodium acid pyrophosphate is obtained by dissociation of mono sodium phosphate at the appropriate temperature.

Usage areas

Water
It is used as water boiling agent in biological wastewater treatment plants.

food
In the food industry, dry powder is used as an acid component in lactates, as a gelation accelerator in puddings, as a buffer and emulgator in other foods.

Metal
It is used in the metal industry for pH control in acid type metal cleaners.

Detergent
It is used to provide stabilization agent and hardness stabilization in hygiene products.

Medicine
It is used as an additive in enema production in the pharmaceutical industry.
