Production and Reactions
Perchlorethylene is produced from dichloromethane. Since trichlorethylene is another by-product produced during this reaction, these two chemicals are then separated by distillation.
It is the most widely used solvent for dry cleaning.
In this sector, it is used to pick up oils on metal.
HCFC tibi is used in the production of coolers.
