General Information

It is a solid chemical compound which is soluble in water in which KOH is the chemical formula and it is a solid chemical compound. It absorbs moisture and can produce a color that is grayish or grayish in time. Alkali activates certain metals (Al, Cu, and alloys). Potassium hydroxide, which is very common in use, is a very strong (ph = 14) basic chemical substance in solid white state.

Molecular Structure

K 1 OH - 1

Production and Reactions

Potassium hydroxide can be obtained by mercury, diaphragm and membrane cell electrolysis methods using sodium chloride (NaCl) or less potassium chloride (KCl).

Potassium hydroxide can be obtained by heating the iron with iron to an incandescent temperature.
