SODIUM TRIPOLYPHOSPHATE-CHINA

General Information

Sodium tripolyphosphate, whose chemical formula is Na5P3O10, is the sodium salt of triphosphoric acid. It is an inorganic salt and it exhibits detergent activity in combination with alkaline phosphates, separation, dispersing and buffering. It is common to use with its form.

Production and Reactions
Production of sodium tripolyphosphate; phosphoric acid with sodium carbonate or sodium hydroxide
It is generally produced by spray oven method. Stable structure STPP is made by heating sodium dihydrogen phosphate and disodium hydrogen phosphate to 500 - 550 oC.
The synthesis of disodium hydrogenphosphate and sodium dihydrogenphosphate prepared by using phosphoric acid and sodium carbonate in STPP synthesis is based on the method of calcification at 400-450 oC.

Usage areas

Detergent
STPP is widely used in regular and compact laundry detergents (dust, liquid, gel and tablets), automatic dishwashing detergents (dust, liquid, gel and tablets), toilet cleaners and surface cleaners

Water
The separation of water hardness is used in lowering operations.

Hygiene
It is used with dirt emulsification and sedimentation properties.

Chemistry
It is used to buffer pH in the chemical industry.

Other
It is used as a disintegrating agent in the oil well and as a separating agent in boiling of cotton.
